2018 Church Musicians' Retreat

September 7, 2018 - September 8, 2018

17th Annual Diocesan Musicians' Retreat

The 17th Annual Diocesan Musicians’ Retreat will be held September 7-8, 2018 at the Claggett Conference Center, Adamstown, MD. The conference begins with dinner together on Friday, followed by the Keynote Address. Friday evening continues with sung compline in St. Andrew's Chapel, followed by social time. We continue on Saturday with three workshops, lunch, a choral music reading session, and time to browse music from Musical Source.

  • Keynote speaker: Marilyn Haskel.

Marilyn is a career church musician: organist, choir director, liturgist, and composer. She was Program Manager for Liturgical Arts and New Initiatives in Music and the Arts for Trinity Wall Street; served as Cantor at the historic St. Paul’s Chapel from 2006 to 2014; has been a workshop leader for Music that Makes Community. Her first love is congregational singing and so she is active in the Hymn Society and Melodious Accord where she works with Alice Parker.
