According to Lisa Marie Ryder, Co-Executive Director, “We see in our community the number of individuals and families who are struggling during the government shutdown. We are able to meet an immediate need by opening up our dining hall and inviting federal employees to join us as a guest at our table.”
“We believe in supporting and helping our community. The initial response to this initiative has been overwhelmingly positive. We hope the Claggett Center is able to offer some relief during a time when finances are stretched thin,” shared James Ryder, Co-Executive Director.
The Claggett Center will review its ability to offer free meals to furloughed employees on a weekly basis for as long as the shutdown continues. Please visit www.claggettcenter.org or follow the Claggett Center on Facebook for updated information regarding meals beyond January 27, 2019.
