Inspiration, Community, and Skill Building in a Supportive and Holy Environment
This retreat is designed for people who are passionate about writing, gifted writers and publishers, and those who have a story they wish to tell.
Program Overview
Struggling to find inspiration, motivation, or time to work on your writing during your pandemic routine? Come away to Claggett for a change of pace and space. Writers of all experience and interest are invited to take time for yourself and your work at our third annual Writers' Retreat.
This year's retreat will look different, as we refrain from receptions, table talk sessions, and extensive time in workshops. Our COVID-conscious program will include:
- An opening keynote session to welcome participants and set the tone for a reflective and productive retreat, held in a space able to accommodate social distancing.
- "Writing Ahead, Writing Now" with Tristan Davies, returning instructor from 2019
- Daily opportunities for morning and evening worship, led by the Revered Dina van Klaveren, event chaplain
- Three home-cooked meals per day, following our COVID dining procedures
- Plenty of time to walk the grounds, cozy up by the fire, and of course, to write.
At this time, all lodging reservations in the Christiane Inn will be for single-occupancy rooms. Double-occupancy is available for members of the same household only--please contact the Claggett office to inquire about a double room.
Masks are required while indoors in shared spaces, such as meeting rooms and common areas, at Claggett.
