Claggett Center offers week-long, overnight summer camp programs in Maryland for youth completing 2nd grade through recently graduated high school seniors. Rooted in Christian tradition and grounded in Scripture, our summer camp is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland and in partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Washington that creates space for fun, faith, and friendship.

Campers experience the joy of outdoor adventure and spiritual formation through activities like swimming, ropes course challenges, kayaking on the Monocacy River, skits, games, small group discussion, and campfire worship. Each week, a chaplain walks alongside campers and staff, participating in daily camp life and offering pastoral support, prayer, and spiritual direction.

Since 2023, Claggett has offered a gender-inclusive housing option for Sassafras Seniors and Mulberry Middle camp programs as part of our commitment to inclusion.

Pricing

Each year, camp rates are reviewed and built with the realities of family budgets and the Claggett budget in mind. In recognition of the reality that paying for the true cost of camp may be outside of your family’s budget, Claggett is glad to offer three Tiered options as you go through the Camper Application process.

The Comprehensive Tier is what it costs to run camp for one camper.
The Core Tier has a built in scholarship of between $90 and $115, depending on the program.
The Supported Tier has a built in scholarship of between $210 and $290, depending on the program.

Family Camp Pricing

Powell Hall & Cottages: 2025 Rates

First two campers (one adult + one minor): $925
Each additional camper: $150

Christiane Inn: 2025 Rates

First two campers (one adult + one minor): $1275
Each additional camper: $150
Includes private bath and linens

Scholarships & Discounts

At Claggett, our goal is for no child to be turned away due to financial need. We offer scholarships through the Rev. Bill Fallowfield Scholarship Fund and can create payment plans upon request.

Discounts:

Automatically applied for multiple children from the same family
Episcopal clergy and diocesan staff are eligible for a discount. Email the Programs Department for the discount code, which changes annually.

Summer Camp Financial Policies

Payment Policy:

$100 deposit required for week-long programs ($150 for Adventure Camp)
Full payment due May 31

Cancellation Policy:

Prior to or on April 30: Full refund (minus deposit)
On or between May 1 and May 31: 50% refund of balance (minus deposit)
On or after June 1: No refund

Claggett reserves the right to cancel any program. In such cases, a full refund will be issued for any unused services.

Parish Visit from Camp Director

In an effort to keep Claggett and the congregations of the Episcopal Dioceses of Maryland and Washington connected, Rev. Sara Yoe is glad to have this Calendly where you can sign up for a Parish Visit with your Programs/Camp Director!

Sara will come to your church and do any combination of the following:

preaching
presiding
presenting/sharing about Claggett Programs (either formally or informally during coffee/fellowship hour, forums, etc.)

Sara will come with some classic camp craft kits, camp song books, and other print materials about Claggett’s programs for your church.

If you are an Episcopal School in either of these Dioceses and would like Sara to come to your school for Chapel or a special presentation, email Sara!
